Mt. Hood Fall Physical Fitness Test 2005

Coaches and volunteers from MHRT/MHA, Cooper Spur Ski Team, the MAC Club and Meadows Race Team will be conducting the U. S. Ski Team Medals Test, October 16th, at Mt. Hood Community College.  The Medals Test offers a great evaluation to help racers determine if they are physically ready and prepared for the competition season.

J3 and older racers need to know if they are properly conditioned in all the physical capacities alpine racing requires.  Even if you are actively competing in a fall sport the Medals Test will be very useful.  Not all sports address physical conditioning in the same way, and the elements of your fall sport -- endurance, speed, strength, etc. -- may be different from the components of ski racing.

2nd year J4 racers (12 year old mitey mites) will also benefit from the Medals Test.  Besides evaluating your current levels of conditioning, the test provides a good educational opportunity to learn what type of physical fitness ski racing will demand as you grow older.

When:  Sunday, October 16th, 11:00am to 1:00

Where: Mt. Hood Community College Football Field - Gresham, OR

Who:      Mt. Hood area athletes 12 and older.

What to Bring: Proper workout clothes, running shoes, a water bottle, a small writing pad and a pencil.

What will be tested: aerobic and anaerobic condition, speed and quickness, explosive power and core strength.
